Refreshing your site involves aligning it with your overall goals and business branding strategy so you can stay competitive in your market. You could call it the web design equivalent of a face lift. We just like to call it putting your best foot forward and it’s often an ongoing process.
So when someone comes to us and asks us to redesign their site, we want to make sure we know exactly what putting your best foot forward means, for you. We will often ask just two questions. (We did say we’re pretty no-bullshit around here.)
- Do you want to change the color of your site, the graphics, and/or the typography?
- Do you want to change the structure, purpose and functions of your site?
If you answered yes to the second question, you aren’t looking for a redesigned site, you need a realigned site. (We know, now you’re wondering “What’s the diff?”)
In short, the realignment/refresh process will look at your overall site structure and will determine what is working and what isn’t working. We’ll also look at your competitors to see what they are doing right and what we can do better. (We know, sneaky right? We prefer the term genius!)
From there, the things that aren’t working we’ll either scrap altogether or find a way to make them work, and the things that are working we’ll tweak and fine-tune to insure the best possible outcome when all is said and done.
The focus with a realign is on visitor experience and the complete usability of your site. The reality is that if you’re website isn’t fast, easy to navigate, well-organized and visually pleasing you’ve already lost half of your visitors. They’ll simply move on to another site that is all of those things. Not what you want right? We don’t want that either.
And of course with the realign there might be a redesign portion of the process as well. It wouldn’t do to simply clean up under the hood so to speak. The outside should rock as well, in keeping with the new changes being made behind the scenes.
So during this phase, we’ll take the new functionality of your site and seamlessly blend it with new graphics, colors, and typography that will create a current and forward-thinking brand experience for your visitors. We did promise to help you kick some ass didn’t we? We know it was unspoken but hey… a promise is a promise! Now let’s get started, contact us today to see how we can refresh your website and make it rock.
