Swirlspice.com was the winner of our Free Holiday Blog Design Giveaway. We gave her a fresh blue wintery look on her Movabletype powered blog.
Thank you, Melissa. Emtwo was the first company that made a proposal to fit what we wanted instead of what the company wanted. Working with Emtwo was straightforward and pleasant, and the end product was just right.

Kerry and Shelagh approached us a few months ago about redesigning their website. They wanted us to utilize their existing logo and take their content and present it in a professional manner. They wanted to be able to modify and add new content, when necessary. They didn’t have a large budget, but that’s ok because we’ll try our best to help you stay on budget while also bringing you a highly effective website.
Enter Wordpress. Free for both personal and commercial use, and also perfect for the needs of Abbottlittle.com (and their budget!). Kerry and Shelagh can now update all the pages on their site. They can also add new projects (the newest featured on the main page) as well as update their client list.
I loved working with Melissa. She took a very rough sketch and turned it into a very slick site. She’s also just a real joy to work with, as well as being very reasonably priced. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Where to start with this project! Well, first off, this project was a lot of fun for us. Stephen was so great to work with. And we love moving sites into ExpressionEngine. I makes us all warm and fuzzy inside.
We took Stephen’s original blog (hosted on Typepad) and divided it up into 3 niche blogs. One for his writings on Food and Wine, another about Law and Business and the last an assortment of writing categorized as Punditry.
The main page of his site is a portal of sorts, highlighting the newest content across his network of blogs. Users can than choose to go directly to any of the 3 blogs. They can also subscribe to the RSS feed for each one or choose to subscribe to the global feed, which contains all his blogs in one nifty feed.
We also created additional pages, which Stephen can easily update via the ExpressionEngine Control Panel.

We created a fun and feminine new blog design for MC at Shibooya.com. MC wanted something stylish and minimalistic for her Wordpress powered blog. We chose a serene and muted color palette that kept things light and easy on the eyes. Her content is the main focus, while the sidebars back up the focus of her blog by highlighting recent crafty flickr photos and her reading list.
Shibooya.com focuses on crafts, baking, book/film reviews. Go check her out!

Cincy IP needed an internet presence for their organization. They provide legal eduction to members to address intellectual property law issues. They asked us to create a membership-driven website which was easy to manage and update. Of course we chose ExpressionEngine to handle all of this for us. The site features a simple membership sign up process and the ability for member groups to access parts of the site for maintenance. It also allows for visitors to search for members based on custom search strings. In addition we added a blog for news and updates as well as a section for upcoming CIPLA events.

Azalea Coast Appraisals needed a brand new website. They asked us to take their original logo and “go with it”. We reworked the logo so that it was more professional and worked for both the internet and print material. Than we designed and developed a website that was straight-forward and very easy to use so that Azalea Coast’s customers can order their residential real estate appraisals online.

We designed Gayle’s blog a few years ago and she came back to us and asked us to create a design for her small business website that matched her blog. We also took Gayle from her old long, tedious, manual updating of pages to ExpressionEngine’s dynamic content management system.

Toni came to us with a very specific design in mind. She pointed us to a fabulous illustration of a woman sitting in a cafe which she wanted to use for her new blog design. We took the color palette directly from the illustration and it followed together beautifully. Toni is a repeat client so we tried to go in a different direction with this blog design, utilizing the popular three column layout.

Buzz has been a long time blogger and also our long time friend. When he asked us a few month back to move his sites to ExpressionEngine we were thrilled. We love EE, and we are always happy to help anyone make the switch.
Than he came back and asked us to put together a new look for his blog. He provided the snazzy image for the header, which features a handsome young guy against a brick wall. We put our spin on it, and created a very crisp and open design which shows off his content and photos very well. While we were at it, we streamlined his sidebar and optimized some of his existing code.

Elizabeth hired us to give her blog a make-over. She wanted something “blue” and “summery”, while also being clean and light weight. We used some blue floral imagery we found online and set her up with a fully skinned weblog in ExpressionEngine.
Work:site design, expressionengine development, wiki, forum
We took Shelley from a simple Wordpress blog to a much more enhanced and fine tuned ExpressionEngine Website. We utilized both the wiki and the discussion forum for her site, as well as the weblog feature which runs all of the different dynamic sections as well as some of the static content on her new site. Shelley had a specific design in mind, using a filing cabinet icon for the header and than incorporating other icons for each section. We grabbed this icon set and took her rough ideas and brought them to life in this expansive and easily manageable website.
I’ve actually recommended Mel to several people, even before I contacted her for a redesign. I’ve always loved her vibe and the clean lines she produces. She was completely awesome to work with and didn’t disappoint when I told her what I was looking for. I loved my design right off the bat. Mel has immense creativity and love for her craft, which made her really easy to work with. I would recommend her to anyone. She won’t disappoint.

Statia been blogging since before blogging was popular. She’s been through the gamut of blog designs, with 2 columns and 3 columns, and all sorts of illustrations and colors and every little hip blog thing you can think of. She’s past all that hoopla now, and wants her blog to focus on the good stuff, her writing. She asked that we take the color scheme from her new son’s bedding and make it work on her blog. So that’s exactly what we did. We also used some of the pattern to add a bit of dimension to the blog as well as some block letters, which tied in nicely with the overall theme.
Words cannot express how happy I am with the work that Sean & Melissa at Emtwo did for me on my personal site. Melissa’s communication and professionalism were both above and beyond my expectations and the design was exactly what I wanted on the first shot! I would definitely recommend their services to anyone – you will NOT be disappointed. I plan to use them again very soon!!! Thanks again guys!

Misty came to us with a request to redesign her personal blog. She supplied us with two separate images for use in the header and told us to pick one and “go with it”. And so we did. Using the lawn chair for inspiration we gave Misty’s blog a colorful, clean, crisp and fresh new design. We also adding tagging to her entries and utilized the built-in membership function in EE to allow her to post “private” entries to registered members.

Metgrrl.com is a special interest blog focusing on all things Mets. Our client supplied us with the header graphic and asked us to come up with a design that utilized the Met’s color scheme (blue/orange/black) and that allowed her to easily change and edit her sidebar content. We moved her off of Blogger and into ExpressionEngine. Now Metsgrrl has full control over all aspects of her site, in an easy straight-forward content management system.
Emtwo was really great to work with and very economical. Melissa took my rough ideas and really ran with it. I was interested in taking my site to the next level and I really love what she has created with my site. She was very receptive to my feedback and willing to keep working on the site until it was just the way I wanted it. From a technical side, Mel was happy to answer all of my mundane questions about the site and has really enhanced my understanding of how it works. Even after the project was completed, Mel has continued to answer my queries in a timely manner and even suggested alternative hosting environments once we determined that my current hosting situation was not going to work. I recommend Emtwo without reservation for any web design project.

Evan Anderman is a professional photographer who wanted to completely revamp his online presence. We took his existing logo and reworked it so that it was more current and fit well with the design we created for him. We used Evan’s own photography in the header as well and left the rest of his photography to stand out on it’s own. Using ExpressionEngine, we were able to create a public side of the site for everyone to see and than a membership only side where members can create their own “Favorites Collection” of Evan’s photographs. He also has a newsletter where he can send out information to all of his members and a blog to keep everyone up to date on what he’s doing and where he’ll be shooting.
The fabulous Mel has developed a fabulous looking site for me. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her. Except, choose her for your site and go and recommend her to other people. She kicks.

Catraggedy is a returning client. She moved from her old blog to a brand new domain. With the new domain, came a snazzy new blog design which grew it’s inspiration from the client’s personal story about how she came up with her new domain name. We kept things simple and stylish for this blog. We used stock images from istockphoto to create the header image. We also implemented a registration based setup, which allows the owner of the site to post private posts for only selected registered users.
Our fantabulous new design is all down to Mel’s skill at interpreting our 8000 different requests, questions and panic attacks. Cannot recommend her highly enough - the best Expression Engine diva out there. Thanks so much

Our client wanted to move off of blogger and into something a little nicer. We converted all the entries from blogger into ExpressionEngine and while we were at it, freshened up the design and overall style of the site. Using stock images from istockphoto along with a fun, inviting, and warm color scheme.
From the idea of “I’d quite like a menu a bit like that” and some paintings, Mel created the most beautiful site for me. I’m impressed. Anyone who can manage that much content and still make it easy to navigate is doing the most fantastic job. Thank you, Mel - I love it!

Author Imogen McCallum contacted emtwo to create a website for her and the novels she is writing. We used ExpressionEngine to create her site, so that she can easily manage the content on all pages. Her design utilizes a color scheme which is similar to her custom book illustrations, so everything comes together. We added a blog so that she can constantly be in touch with her readers and give updates about all of her novels.
We love it. This is SUCH an improvement over blogger! We are going to be very happy here.

Author Julia London and her two author friends Kathleen Givens and Sherri Browning wanted to move their existing blog off of blogger.com and into something a little more user-friendly and versatile. Immediately, ExpressionEngine became the clear choice of Content Management Systems. I created the design of Whine Sisters based on info supplied by Julia. They wanted something fun and lighthearted that utilized a “whine/wine” theme.
The site was built using a modular structure, so that each contributor can update their recently published books as well as what they are reading and listening too. We also used the EE Poll module, which allows them to easily add fun polls to their site.
I have started messing with the site and I really love it. I think it’s really great and I’m really happy with your work.

Jason came to me with a very specific site in mind. One where he had complete control over all content. His site is geared toward school age children and he wanted to make sure that it was a safe, friendly environment, one where children could learn about our history while having fun.
He supplied all of the graphics on the site and let me work my creative magic to bring it all together in one uniform package. Using ExpressionEngine, Jason is now able to update and maintain all aspects of his site. The commenting system allows for registration-only commenting, which is first approved by Jason before going live on the site. This is helpful in maintaining a child-friendly safe site.
Mel has been excellent to work with and delivers great product.

Aaron was looking for a completely new look for his multi-author site. He also wanted to move away his site from Movabletype to ExpressionEngine. Aaron sent me a few different images from istockphoto, but the mannequin image we chose was his favorite. He wanted something that was clean and simple and more streamlined than his former site design. We chose a three column fixed width design that is easier to read. With ExpressionEngine it was easy to add some additional posting features, like “Email”, “Digg” and “Print” each entry.

Martie asked me to give her personal wedding website a complete new look, using Expression Engine. She had an existing blog, but she wanted an entire “site”, including a home page, with excerpts from multiple areas of her site, including her engagement, her wedding and the honeymoon. She had a fall wedding and wanted the look and feel of her site to reflect their wedding theme.
We also utlized EE’s powerful Gallery Module to bring together her personal family photos. Through the use of EE, Martie and Patrick can easily update and add to their site as the future unfolds.
Mel listened to exactly what I wanted - a simple clean design - and delivered. She was so knowledgeable about how to incorporate my flickr photos onto the blog, as well as how EE operates… She was timely, kept her promises on deliverables - and overall was just great.
I highly recommend her!

Snidget asked for a brand new design to correspond with the rebirth of her new blog. She asked for something simple, with clean lines, crisp fonts and different then the previous designs she’s had for her blog. I found a feminine simplisitc tree illustration and instead of overpowering the design with additional images, I incorporated her flickr feed into the header, for contrast. Each time the site is loaded, different random photo thumbnails are shown.
My site is so gorgeous I can’t stop looking at it!!! It’s like Mel crawled inside my head except I could never execute anything so beautiful.

Alisa changed domain names, and wanted to update her site design to reflect her new home. She told me she was partial to blue’s and once I found this image, I thought it was perfect. I sent it off to her and she agreed. Then I built the rest of the design around the header image. She also asked if she could have a little section on the side which shows her most recent recipe posted and also her outstanding movies from netflix. Both are easy to achieve with a content management system. Now she has a new home and a new look!
I found Mel on the recommendation of two of the best web designers around. The entire experience of working with her was fantastic. When I gave Mel a thumbnail sketch of what I was hoping for my blog, I never expected that she would be able to get inside my head to create my new design! It’s everything I could have hoped for and more.
Mel is an incredibly talented, creative and professional web designer. She delivers an impressive product in an equally impressive manner.
I can’t wait to work with Mel again to create another skin for my blog! She is a true talent and a pleasure to do business with!

Danielle came to me with some illustrations she had made and asked if I could create a new site design based off of these illustrations, but with a feminine, inviting feel. While she loved the original look, which used a bold red, white, black color scheme, she wanted this new design to reflect her personality and style a little more.
Simply first class!
I highly recommend Mel for your next blog design. It was a breeze to work with her and I look forward to our next project together.
I had high expectations and Mel certainly didn’t let me down.
The project was delivered on time and to specification. You really can’t go wrong with Mel at the helm!!

Wedaholic.com is a site where Elle Brown publishes many questions she receives from engaged couples on all sorts of wedding issues. She wanted to develop a site that would become a bride’s best friend. This site is run by MT, and created as per the clients specifications for a clean, soft, welcoming design. Soft blue tones, with highlights of pink are seen throughout. In addition, a custom logo was created.
I knew of mel through her work with other design shops, but I didn’t totally fall in love with anything she did until I saw what she did with one of her blog skins and this here m2 site. And when I came to her, I was in one of my typical ruts: Didn’t know what I wanted, only that she should “put some stank on it,” whatever she did. Oh, and I want it graphically interesting instead of art intensive, and I want more than one font but not these particular fonts, and ... and ...
Can you see how this might be annoying?
Well, mel handled my “faux designer” tendencies with much grace and humor, and she totally didn’t kill me when I chose a different color for the sidebar, though I’m sure there might’ve been some secret weeping as I pretended to know what I was doing.
She’s a consumate professional, and more important, she’s a lot of fun. There’s no doubt we’ll be working together again.

The Broad asked me to create a new design for her blog which was a little clean, a little sexy and a little bold (or in her words: “bring the stank”. I used some dark colors and subtle accents to create the style she was after. And then we switched here from Movabletype to Expression Engine. With ExpressionEngine’s built in spam control and user-friendly interface, Broad is happily blogging along with her new skin!
What more can I say? Mel was simply a delight to work with and took the design idea I had created in Photoshop and made it an actual site. Everything looked like what I had in mind. She even went above and beyond my expectations and really made the overall website a functional extension of our church. We now have an average of 100 hits per day, whereas before, we were lucky to get 4 hits per day. Now, with Mel’s help and expertise in using Expression Engine, the site is easier to look at, and is becoming a central communication point of our church congregation. We now offer sermon outlines in conjunction with downloadable sermons and a really nice photo gallery.
The main reason I chose Mel for the church’s website was because of her extensive portfolio and her willingness to take on the task we had at hand. Also, I was looking for a COMPLETE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE that has more than just a “blog”. I came across EE some time back but just brushed it off because it cost for a license. Therefore, I dabbled into other CMS’s which were nothing than “blogs.” I did not want this for the church’s site. The staff needed something that could be quickly learned and would not take much of their time. Therefore, I reverted back to EE and really looked at the sites that had been created by various professionals. I saw the flexibility that EE had and was quite impressed in how things worked behind the scenes to produce what a visitor to a website will see.
As from my first impressions about the license fee for the software; it is well worth it. Especially if you can pair up with an incredible developer as Mel. I will definitely recommend her to anyone and will definitely come back to her for some minor tweaks to the website as well as other personal website ventures.
I just cannot say enough. MEL IS GREAT!
