Hey! You found our blog. This is where we post updates about what's going on at Emtwo (vacations, news, schedule updates). We also write about what's going on in our lives as well as cool sites we visit or fun tips and tricks we find around the internet. We're not a "specialty" blog focusing on any one subject or category. We like to keep things open, fun and light. We hope you'll stick around and share your thoughts with us.

Drawing for Free Holiday Blog Design

Posted by Melissa on 11/15 • News & StuffPermalink

Ohhh how I love the holidays.  And they are quickly approaching.  I remember a time when I used to create 2 or 3 different blog designs just for my own blog during the season.  The good old days...how things have changed.  But, I still love creating holiday blog designs and since the holidays are all about giving, we decided to give away one free holiday themed blog design

How to enter:

First, enter your email address in the box on the sidebar under “FREE HOLIDAY BLOG DESIGN!” Your email address will be placed in a random drawing.  The winner will be chosen on November 26, 2007 and will have their holiday themed blog design installed by December 9, 2007.

The rules:

  1. This contest is open to personal blogs only. Sorry no business blogs or websites.
  2. The winner gets a custom design based on their own specifications, but it must have a winter holiday theme.
  3. This contest will run through Midnight on November 25, 2007 - Eastern Standard Time.
  4. One random winner will be chosen by Melissa and Sean.
  5. Winners will be announced on Monday November 26, 2007.
  6. Blog design will be installed into your existing blog software.  If you have skinning enabled on your blog we will install the new design as a skin, if you do not have skinning installed, this design will replace your current design on your blog.
  7. Blog design includes the main page, comments/trackback pages, archives/category pages, contact page, about page (if applicable)

For years, we have been supporting the Blogger Boobie-Thon.  When it went up for adoption a few months back, I put in a request and I was actually the person chosen to take over the event.

I am really excited and proud to be part of a wonderful cause.  Breast cancer can effect any of us, at any time.  It’s scary and it’s real.  And if we don’t do something about it, people we love will continue to die.

So this year, once again, our fronts are back! The Boobie-Thon kicked off on Monday October 1st and will run through October 8th. So far we’ve raised $4100.00 - less than previous years but I’m still proud of that number none the less.

Please support us by submitting photo and donating to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. You can also link to us on your blog or website.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Everywhere, USA

Six years of tradition has the blogger community sharing, and baring, their chests for the best reason they can think of - fighting cancer.

That’s right, the racks are back Oct. 1-8 and they’re committed to raising more than $10,000 in one week by unveiling Mother Nature’s greatest gifts. That’s right, we’re saying it, BOOBIES.

“I love the idea,” says Melissa Connolly, 2007 coordinator, “If someone’s going to ogle my goods, they can at least make a donation to save boobies and lives!”

No one ever said that bloggers were afraid of expressing their opinions or sharing their ideas. Those are the very catalysts that make blogs the influential medium they are today. So when a joke between friends turned into an empowering fundraiser and awareness-raiser bloggers nationwide signed on. And they’re saddling up again for another wild ride in 2007.

In an effort to gain donations for breast cancer research, hundreds of women and men are donating images of their chests for ogglers world-wide to check out. Generous donor bloggers are seriously strutting their creativity in both the clothed and bared arena on boobiethon.com.

Shall we repeat that? boobiethon.com, boobiethon.com, boobiethon.com, boobiethon.com.

The passion, the mission and the history are waiting for you to discover; online; today; right now at boobiethon.com. Don’t worry, all primary pages are work safe.

Remember that house thing I mentioned. Well it is progressing.  And we are really excited.  This past weekend I drove down to Charlotte, so I could meet with the builder on Monday for the pre-drywall walk through.  It was the first time I got to see “the house”.  There’s been this promise of a house, and some grading of the land, but now there’s actual something THERE!

And seeing it....that was awesome.

Our House - 08.06.07

There is still plenty left to do but we hear that the next phase goes pretty fast.  We should close in the middle of September but we won’t actually move at that point.  We need to tie up some loose ends in New York before we can pack up our lives and relocate to a new state.

As we get information about a definite move date, we will be updating everyone on our schedule.  We are planning to be out of commission for a few days surrounding the move, and we want to make sure everyone is aware of what’s going on and that it will be very temporary.  We can’t possibly stay away from the internet for to long wink
