Hey! You found our blog. This is where we post updates about what's going on at Emtwo (vacations, news, schedule updates). We also write about what's going on in our lives as well as cool sites we visit or fun tips and tricks we find around the internet. We're not a "specialty" blog focusing on any one subject or category. We like to keep things open, fun and light. We hope you'll stick around and share your thoughts with us.

I am sure that I have mentioned this somewhere along the line, but in case I haven’t, or for the newcomers, we are Mozilla users here at emtwo.  We use the Firefox browser and the Thunderbird mail application.  And we love both of them for too many reasons to list.

One of my favorite things about about both of these applications is the ability to personally customize each one.  There are tons of extensions and plugins you can add-on.  Also, there are a ton of custom themes for both.  I like to change the themes every few months.  It makes me feel like my handy-dandy application is brand spanking new.  So, today I changed Thunderbird’s theme to Cross Over and Firefox to Baby Blue.

It’s the little things.

When I originally put together this new redesign, realigned site, I told myself that I would definitely invest in some business cards.  And they arrived today.  Just in time to coincide with the launch of the site design.  I used vistaprint.com for printing and I think they came out quite snazzy!

I went with the matte finish, because I am ALL OVER matte.  While the shiny polished look is cool, I just wasn’t feeling it this time around (I had some bad experiences with glossy wedding photo thank you cards and I’m still a little hesitant about going that route again and repeating that horror).

I think they are really bold and fresh.  Different than most business cards and that’s probably why I love them.  I wanted to make a statement and so far, they have gone over quite well.  I’m glad I chose to round off the corners because I feel it really brings the card together.  Now, I just need to get out there and hand more out.  More and more people have been asking me for a card and now I am prepared!

I just got an email that freeCSScart launched a new website. And it looks quite slick.  I really love it.

And even more importantly, the features look outstanding compared to the alternatives out there.  I am really looking forward to how this all comes together.  And, hi!  It’s FREE!!  Keep your eye out on this one.  It’s sure to be a goodie.

Websites as graphs is a neat little site where you input your URL and it outputs a pretty graph displaying little dots which represent things like links, image, tables, etc. It’s fun to check out other sites too, and get a feel for what is behind the site that you see everytime you visit.

This is what emtwo looks like:

image

What do the colors mean?
blue: for links (the A tag)
red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags)
green: for the DIV tag
violet: for images (the IMG tag)
yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags)
orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags)
black: the HTML tag, the root node
gray: all other tags

Nifty, eh?

CSS Reboot started yesterday and I have been taking a few moments here and there (read: while I eat lunch or dinner in front of this glowing box) to look over some of the sites that were submitted and so far, I do have some favorites!

And in no particular order they are:
Lelia Thomas
Frexy
Finbarr
CSS Remix
Nevity
Chris Williams Design

And that’s just only a few that caught my eye right away.  Go take a peek yourself.
