We are busy finishing up some projects before we take off for Christmas and New Years.  This will be our second Christmas in our house, but the first where we will be sitting back and enjoying every moment.  Last year we moved 5 days before Christmas and it was totally insane. We are striving for a much calmer holiday season this year. 

Our office will be closed starting Tuesday December 23, 2008 and will reopen on Monday January 5, 2009.  We will be around doing maintenance and other general administrative duties during that time, but for the most part we will be enjoying the holidays with our family.  Emails and phone calls will be returned on and after January 5th.  As always, if you have an emergency, please email us with a big red blinking “EMERGENCY” in the subject line and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

We just did the drawing for the free winter theme blog design and have notified the winner.  Once we have acceptance of the prize, we will announce the winner.

Last week when we launched our new design we were really happy with how everything turned out.  We had spent a fair amount of time going through revisions and building a site that reflected our personality and how we run our business.

Later in the week I worked on updating some of our print material.  Business cards, letterhead, marketing material, that sort of thing.  When we took our new logo and printed it out, we found that it didn’t print well.

We should have checked this out before going live with the site.  I can’t make any excuses for not doing that.

Mistakes happen.  And the moment that first sheet of paper printed out, we knew we made one. We yelled, we cried, we laughed and than we got back to work.  We developed a new(er) logo that works better around the edges.  It was really just a matter of refining and switching out one little detail with another.

We don’t even know if anyone would have really noticed, since the other one wasn’t up for very long.  But we did want to address the situation and say, Hey!  We do make mistakes, and we work hard to correct them. 

Our new(er) logo is now getting printed out on our new business cards, letterhead, envelopes and promotional items.  We’re happy to have that all straightened out and completed.  Mark another thing off in Basecamp!

Just like last year, Emtwo is again participating in the May 1 CSS Reboot.  IN addition, we’re also participating in the Standard’s Reboot, which is also scheduled for May 1st. However, instead of being a day late, like last year, we’re about a week early.  Our schedules didn’t mesh well with the May 1st date, so we launched when we could.  And here it is!

Since Emtwo is no longer a one-woman shop, we really wanted to refine our image and brand to reflect the style and personality of both Sean and I.  As well as fine-tune some of our back-end coding so that things on the front-end run much smoother.  We hope you enjoy our refreshed and snazzy Emtwo website.
