Remember that house thing I mentioned. Well it is progressing. And we are really excited. This past weekend I drove down to Charlotte, so I could meet with the builder on Monday for the pre-drywall walk through. It was the first time I got to see “the house”. There’s been this promise of a house, and some grading of the land, but now there’s actual something THERE!
And seeing it....that was awesome.
There is still plenty left to do but we hear that the next phase goes pretty fast. We should close in the middle of September but we won’t actually move at that point. We need to tie up some loose ends in New York before we can pack up our lives and relocate to a new state.
As we get information about a definite move date, we will be updating everyone on our schedule. We are planning to be out of commission for a few days surrounding the move, and we want to make sure everyone is aware of what’s going on and that it will be very temporary. We can’t possibly stay away from the internet for to long

UnionSportsmen.org is a website for Union Workers with a love for the outdoors. When the site web manager, Tripp Allen, asked us to take the design and code that was created by BMA Media and finesse it into ExpressionEngine we jumped at the opportunity. We are big sports(wo)men in this family and we love to get involved with sites that offer content which we are passionate about. Unionsportsmen.org fit that bill perfectly.
Phase One included taking the existing HTML files and porting them into ExpressionEngine, so that all their content is now dynamic and delivered through EE. Tripp can access and maintain the site using EE’s easy and straight-forward control panel. Everything is right there, with a click or two of the mouse.
We’ll be continuing to work with UnionSportsmen.org on Phase Two of their site, which will include some modifications and customization to the discussion forum.
Feel free to read more about this project on Tripp’s blog, where he goes into a bit of detail about some of the geeky features that were implemented into the site and EE.

There was news on the ExpressionEngine Blog today with information pretaining to the next release of EE. 1.6 is sure to be one of the best releases to date for the software and Ellislab has given us a great sneak peek.
Though 1.6 includes a slew of new features like Hidden Templates and Category Custom Fields, it’s the Multiple Site Manager that marks a substantial new milestone in EE’s history. The Multiple Site Manager (sold separately) is an expansion to ExpressionEngine (not a Module, Plugin, or Extension) that will enable you to manage multiple websites from a single EE installation. And yes, this includes multiple forums as well thanks to the new Discussion Forums 2.0 (free upgrade with active Discussion Forum Download Account).
They also shared a great little video that shows a demo of the Multiple Site Manager. (Direct Video Link) We can not wait to get our hands on this because it will definitely come in handy on a few projects.
I can’t wait to find out the other surprises that will be in 1.6. I seriously, we just can not wait for it to be in our hot little hands.

This morning we had a big office meeting. There was lots of things to discuss, like who is going to go to the store to get more coffee, what kind of office chairs to get and who ate all the cat nip!
Windy Web Designer (aka the one who ate all the cat nip) took the Minutes of the Meeting, while Stormy made sure everyone had enough coffee. Of course I had to grab my camera so I could share our meeting with the internet.
Enjoy.

I guess you could say that I’ve been keeping my husband busy
He’s got a slew of development work going on right now and I thought I’d put together a little sneak peek at what he’s working on.
Two of the sites should be launching later this week. Both personal blogs (top left and bottom right). The other two (top right and bottom left) sites won’t be launching for at least another two weeks.
All of them were a blast to work on and I can’t wait to see my mockups come to life. It’s really fun to watch!
Check back later this week to see the whole picture
